As always there were a number of big moves involving Premier League club on Thursday’s transfer deadline day. Here are the picks of those big transfers:

Romelu Lukaku (Manchester United to Inter, £73million)

After much speculation and rumours, Lukaku finally completed his move to Inter for a reported fee of £8.5million. The striker had travelled to Milan in the early hours of yesterdays to complete the formalities. The striker has signed a five-year deal with the Nerazzurri to end a decidedly mixed two-years in Manchester for the Belgian star.

Alex Iwobi (Arsenal to Everton, £35million)

The Toffees had been linked with the versatile Nigerian star on Wednesday and saw a bid turned down by the Gunners of around £30million. However, the Merseysider’s got their man on deadline day, in a deal that could rise to a fee of around £35million in add-ons.

The 23-year-old has been in and out of the Arsenal team in recent seasons. Last season he scored three goals and delivered seven assists, despite not always being first-choice for the Gunners.

Ryan Sessegnon (Fulham to Tottenham, £25million plus Josh Onomah)

The highly-rated 19-year-old has finally joined Tottenham after 12 months after initially being linked with the north London club. The fee for the versatile left-footed star is a reported £25million potentially rising to £30million plus midfielder Josh Onomah.

Sessegnon impressed in the Championship in season 2017/18. However, last season he struggled for form in a Cottagers that suffered relegation back to the second tier.

Kieran Tierney (Celtic to Arsenal, £25million)

Arsenal had previously seen bids knocked back by Celtic for the left-back. However, the Gunners stumped up the Hoops £25million asking price for the highly-rated Scotland international. Tierney will be competing with the likes of Nacho Monreal and Sead Kolasinac for the left-back berth in north London. He could go into the team as first-choice in the position.

David Luiz (Chelsea to Arsenal, £8million)

Another new arrival on deadline day at Arsenal was Brazilian centre-back, David Luiz. The 32-year-old reportedly refused to train with the Blues on Wednesday to force through a move to the Gunners.

Media reports suggest that he had fallen down the pecking order of centre-backs at the south west London club, which created his desire to leave the Blues. The 32-year-old is likely to make his debut for the Gunners at Newcastle on Sunday afternoon, a game Arsenal are favourites to win.

Giovani Lo Celso (Real Betis to Tottenham, initial loan)

The Argentinian international has joined Tottenham reportedly initially on loan for a fee of £15million, with a permanent deal going through next summer for a fee of £50million. The playmaker impressed with Real Betis last season after moving to Seville from PSG.

Lo Celso is seen by many as a potential long-term replacement for Christian Eriksen. At 23, he still has time to develop into a better player in the future.

Andy Carroll (Free agent to Newcastle)

Maybe not the biggest transfer on deadline day. However, many it is one of the most interesting ones. The former England international returned to the club where it all started for him. Since leaving Newcastle he has played for Liverpool and West Ham, enduring injury-prone spells at both clubs. The 30-year-old has signed a 12-month contract with the Magpies and is likely to be back-up for Brazilian forward Joelinton.
