The Premier League has reached the gameweek seven stage and as always there is a full schedule over games over the weekend. Here are more details of the games taking place.
Sheffield United v Liverpool (Saturday, 12:30 PM Kick-off)
League leaders Liverpool will look to continue their hundred per cent start to the campaign, as Jurgen Klopp’s team travel to Yorkshire to face Sheffield United.
The home side face the visitors looking for a back-to-back Merseyside double after recording a shock 2-0 win at Everton last weekend. The Blades scored twice, despite only having 30 per cent of possession and one shot on target, as Everton defender Yerry Mina scored an own goal.
In truth, the Blades have not made a bad start to life in the English top-flight after promotion. However, the win at Goodison Park did end a three-match winless run for Chris Wilder’s team in the top-flight.
The Blades have a mixed home record since their return to the top-flight. However, they have now lost their last two matches at Bramall Lane. The Yorkshire outfit are major underdogs to get anything from this clash.
Liverpool have won all six of their Premier League games this season, while also scoring at least two goals in all their league wins. In fact, the visitors have now won their last 15 games in the English top-flight, while incredibly scoring at least two goals in all the victories.
The Merseysider’s have also recorded seven straight away wins in the Premier League, while once again scoring at least two goals in each victory.
Wolves v Watford (Saturday, 3 PM Kick-off)
Two struggling teams Wolves and Watford meet at Molineux on Saturday afternoon, as both look to regain any sort of form.
Some touted Wolves as a team that could break into the top-six this season after the side from the Midlands finished seventh last season.
However, Nuno Espirito Santo’s team has made a nightmare start to their league campaign. The home side are 19th in the table after taking just four points from their first six league matches. Santo’s team have yet to registered a top-flight win this season and find themselves just two points above the 20th place visitors.
Their usually reliable home form has slipped of late, as the home side has failed to win in three league matches at Molineux.
Watford have already dispensed with the services of one Spanish boss in Javi Gracia, and replaced him with compatriot Quique Sanchez Flores. The former Espanyol boss’ second stint at the club has started in a poor fashion. The Hornets have drawn with Arsenal 2-2, not a terrible result, but then they suffered an 8-0 humiliation at Manchester City last time out in the top-flight. The Hornets recorded a midweek 2-1 win over Championship Swansea in the Carabao Cup, which could lift spirits of everybody connected with the visitors.
One aspect of Watford’s form that Flores will be hoping to improve is their away record, as they have lost six of their last eight matches on the road in the top-flight. They have also scored just once in their last four away matches in the Premier League.
