Manchester United will lock horns with RB Leipzig this week at Old Trafford as the UEFA Champions League group stage continues.

Leipzig have been able to start the new Bundesliga season like a house on fire and as we look ahead to the immediate future, we can’t see them slowing down. There’s a real feeling in their squad that they could be coming to the end of their ‘golden generation’ but even if that turns out to be the case, it means we should be in for one hell of a campaign between now and May.

The end of September saw Leipzig beat Main and draw against Bayer Leverkusen before a thoroughly impressive four-game winning streak. They tore through Schalke, FC Augsburg and Hertha Berlin in the league, and they also looked really good in their 2-0 win over Istanbul Basaksehir.

Conclusion

Leipzig are still one of the most dangerous teams in Europe just months on from their UCL semi-final appearance, and we’re expecting them to give United a really tough game when the two meet at Old Trafford. We think that the hosts will be able to hold them off for long periods due to their defensive style and we also feel as if they’ll pose more threats to Leipzig than they do in the Premier League, but in the end, they will share the spoils and walk away with a point each.

Our official prediction is going to be 1-1 which is why we’re backing the under 2.5 goals market.
