Prediction and odds for the game: Leeds (6/4) v Leicester (13/8)
We are backing the home win at odds of 6/4
When: Monday, 2nd November 2020, Kick-off 20:00
Where: Elland Road
On Monday night, Leeds host Leicester at Elland Road, in a Premier League clash between two teams who have experienced mixed fortunes this season.
Leeds United
Marcelo Bielsa’s team have made a decent return to the Premier League, winning three of their six games since winning promotion last season. Last time out in the top-flight, the Whites recorded a 3-0 win at in-form Aston Villa, with striker Patrick Bamford scoring a hat-trick, taking his goal tally in the Premier League to six goals in as many appearances.
The game against Villa ended a run of low-scoring games in the English top-flight, as Leeds previous three matches in the Premier League had produced under 2.5 goals.
Bielsa’s team have endured mixed fortunes at Elland Road sine winning promotion, as they have beaten Fulham 4-3, drew 1-1 with Manchester City and lost 1-0 against Wolves in their last home game in the league. The team Yorkshire have yet to keep a clean sheet in the English top-flight on home soil this season.
Leeds don’t have a great recent record against Leicester, as they have won just one of the last six meetings with the Foxes in all competitions. However, the last game between these two teams was back in 2017. Both teams have come a long way since that league cup clash. The two have not met in the Premier League for 16 years when Leeds recorded a 3-2 win at Elland Road.
Leicester
Brendan Rodgers team have fallen into that massive category of Premier League clubs who have been inconsistent at the start of the new league campaign. Last time out the Foxes recorded a 2-1 away win at Zorya in the Europa League, the victory was their third straight win in all competitions.
However, a 1-0 win at Arsenal in their last Premier League match ended a two-game losing run in the English top-flight for the visitors. The victory has moved the team from the Midlands to within a point of league leaders Everton in a congestion Premier League table.
The victory at the Emirates Stadium was also their third straight away victory in the English top-flight. In fact, they have won all their matches on their travels in the league.
Conclusion
This yet another unpredictable game that is turning out to be the most unpredictable Premier League campaign for a long time. However, we fancy the home team for the victory in this clash. The Whites look to be getting to grips with top-flight football and they could cause Rodgers team major defensive problems with they attack opposition teams. The other bet we are backing is both teams to score, as Leeds striker Patrick Bamford is in good form, while Leicester’s Jamie Vardy is always a threat to opposing defences.
Verdict: We are backing the home win at odds of 6/4 and/or both teams to score at odds of 8/13 (All odds are taken from Bet365).
