Prediction & odds for the game: Tottenham (8/13) v Brighton (9/2)
When: Sunday, 1st November @ 7.15pm K.O
Where: Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
Tottenham Hotspur will meet Brighton & Hove Albion as both sides attempt to build some momentum in the Premier League this weekend.
Tottenham
Some fans want Jose Mourinho as their manager and others don’t but through it all, you can bet people are going to be talking about Tottenham Hotspur. That doesn’t mean a whole lot in comparison to getting results on the board but there’s definitely a squad in there somewhere that can do some impressive things this season. It’s all about patience, and that can regularly be hard to come by with the Spurs faithful.
When Tottenham battered Maccabi Haifa 7-2 and destroyed Manchester United 6-1, many were thinking to themselves “Crisis? What crisis” – and understandably so. Unfortunately that positive feeling came to a stop when they surrendered a three-goal lead to draw 3-3 with West Ham. They did beat LASK in the Europa and Burnley in the Premier League, but they were once again poor in a shock 1-0 loss to Antwerp.
Brighton
Brighton may not have had a positive start to the new Premier League campaign but under the guidance of Graham Potter, it definitely feels like they’re making progress. Their solo aim will be to steer clear of the relegation zone and when you take one look at the state of the clubs currently involved in the bottom three battle, it’s obvious that the Seagulls are more than capable of getting out of danger.
A 2-0 success over Preston North End in the Carabao Cup gave Potter and company that winning feeling they’d been lacking. It didn’t last for long, however, as they were beaten in back to back games by Manchester United. They proceeded to lose 4-2 to Everton in a competitive game before steadying the ship ever so slightly with consecutive 1-1 draws against rivals Crystal Palace and strugglers West Bromwich Albion.
Conclusion
Tottenham are the kind of team that everyone needs to watch because as they proved against West Ham, you need to see what’s going to happen until the dying minutes before knowing what result they’re going to end up with. Brighton, on the other hand, aren’t the kind of team that will give up without a fight, which is why we’re expecting a fun encounter this weekend. We do think Spurs will come away with all three points to give their top four hopes a big boost.
We believe the final scoreline is going to be 2-1 here and, as a result, we’re backing the over 2.5 goals market on Sunday.
Verdict: Back the home win at odds of 8/13 and the over 2.5 goals scored at odds of 4/6 (All odds are taken from bet365).
