Although Newcastle’s games are not always high-scoring, both teams have scored in their last five matches in the English top-flight. That has contributed to Newcastle keeping just one clean sheet in their previous eight Premier League matches.

Newcastle have a mixed recent away record in the English top-flight, winning just one of their last six games on their travels. However, 1-1 draws at Tottenham and Wolves in their last two away matches mean that Bruce’s are also undefeated in four games away from home in the English top-flight. The Magpies recent away games in the Premier League have been low-scoring with under 2.5 goals scored in their last four games.

Conclusion

Southampton have been in superb form of late, but the possible absence of striker Danny Ings could have a big effect on the way the game goes. Newcastle have been a stubborn opponent that does not make it easy for their opponents.
