Club football returns this weekend after another international break, which means that FPL also returns. Due to a schedule clash our FPL picks have come out later than expected, but you still have a few hours to change your team, so read on if you wish to know who we believe will thrive in gameweek nine of FPL.

Ryan Cresswell (West Ham £5.1m)

The former Tranmere Rovers full-back always offered a decent attacking threat. This season is no different, as the 30-year-old has already produced three assists. At the other end of the pitch, the Hammers have improved defensively of late.

A trip to goal-shy Sheffield United this weekend offers Cresswell a chance to return at both ends of the field. At £5.1m, he offers decent value for money.

Hakim Ziyech (Chelsea, £8.1m)

The Moroccan international is a player we have selected before as one of our picks. However, at £8.1m, the Chelsea attacking midfielder is increasingly looking like he could offer major value.

After arriving at the south west London club injured. The former Ajax star is now fully fit and firing. Ziyech has started just two league matches for the Blues, where their last two in the Premier League. He scored a goal and also produced two assists, as things finally clicked for Frank Lampard’s team.

With Christian Pulisic and Kai Havertz out of the team, Ziyech is a certain starter and may take the creative responsibility in the attacking areas.  A trip to Newcastle this weekend could prove a tricky fixture, but Ziyech has the quality to help Chelsea to a victory.

Jack Grealish (Aston Villa, £7.6m)

The Villa skipper looks to be an easy choice for gameweek nine after a superb start to the season. The Villans playmaker also impressed for his team helping Dean Smith’s side to enjoy a stellar start to the campaign scoring four goals and producing six assists in their opening eight Premier League games. You would be hard-pressed to find a player with similar stats at such a mid-range price.

A home game against Brighton this weekend is the first of a seven-game run of highly winnable matches for Grealish and his team. Considering his form the midfielder could also be a decent captain option if you are struggling to find another option.

Do you think that Jack Grealish will thrive against Brighton and wish to place a bet on his success? Well, why not visit our betting page to discover the bookmakers we recommend for your bet.

Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa, £6.1m)

We couldn’t resist selecting the former Brentford star. Grealish may be the star of Dean Smith’s Villa team, but Watkins has added a cutting edge in attack for the Villans. Although Brighton have been decent in defence this season, the striker heads into this game on the back of three goals in his last two games for the team from the Midlands.

He has also scored six top-flight goals in eight appearances since making the summer switch from Brentford. Villa’s upcoming fixtures mean that Watkins at £6.1m offers tremendous value for your FPL team.

Will any of our picks for gameweek nine be in your FPL team?
