We have reached gameweek ten of the Premier League season. That means another batch of games for our FPL teams and our four picks for the gameweek. We endured more mixed fortunes in gameweek nine. Here are the four picks that we hope will bring in big points hauls this week:
Patrick van Aanholt (Crystal Palace, £5.4m)
The Dutch full-back has a handy FPL asset in past seasons because of his ability to get attacking points. He missed the first five league games this season. However, he now looks back to full fitness, having started the Eagles last three matches in the Premier League. Van Aanholt has produced just one assist this season, but a home game against shot-shy Newcastle United gives him a chance to produce at both ends of the pitch. The game after this weekend is a trip to struggling West Brom, which is another chance for Van Aanholt to add to his points tally.
Diogo Jota (Liverpool, £6.6m)
Although the Portuguese international is a slight rotation risk, he seems like a good choice this week. The former Wolves forward is classified as a midfielder, which is, of course, a massive bonus.
Jota has scored four times in seven top-flight appearances for the Reds. That is good going considering only four of those appearances were from the start.
A trip to Brighton this week looks like a welcome one for Liverpool. The Seagulls form is improving, but they are the sort of team that will let Jurgen Klopp’s team play. The Merseysider’s will need a reaction after a poor display their midweek 2-0 home defeat by Atalanta in the Champions League.
Patrick Bamford (Leeds, £6.1m)
The former Chelsea forward is proving to be one of the bargain picks of the season. The summer arrival of Rodrigo was expected to push the 27-year-old out of the starting line-up. That hasn’t happened, as Bamford has proven himself prolific in the Premier League this season. The forward has scored seven goals and also produced two assists in the top-flight this season.
This weekend he faces a generous Everton defence, that has conceded at least two goals in their last six games top-flight matches. At £6.1m, Bamford seems to be excellent value.

Jamie Vardy (Leicester, £10.2m)
We don’t usually pick premium players in our picks, but Vardy just seemed like too good a pick in gameweek ten. The 33-year-old has scored eight times and produced two assists in the Premier League this season.
A home game with Fulham, who have the joint-worst defence in the Premier League, offers the forward a big opportunity to add to his burgeoning goal tally. Not only that, but the Foxes are also facing Sheffield United and Brighton in their next two league matches. All three games look promising for the forward. Vardy also looks like a prime candidate to captain this weekend.
