A 1-0 weekend win at Valencia in La Liga means that the home side is eight games unbeaten in all competitions, having recorded six wins in the process. In fact, the only team to have beaten Atleti in any competition this season is Bayern, with the Bavarians recording a 4-0 win in the reverse fixture.
The defeat has contributed to Atletico collecting just five points from their four games in Group A this season. However, Simeone’s team are still second in the group and a win would take them a long way to qualifying for the knockout stages of the Champions League.

Bayern have also scored at least two goals in 14 of their 15 wins in the competition. Flick’s team have made easy work of qualifying from the group, having already booked their place in the last-16 of the Champions League.
Another positive for the visitors is their recent record against Atletico, as the German giants have won three of the last four meetings with the Spanish side. All those four meetings have been in the Champions League.
Conclusion
This could be a truly fascinating tactical battle between two of the best teams currently in the European game. A case of the immovable force meets the unstoppable object. We simply cannot decide between these two teams. Although Bayern look good odds at 9/4 if there is any team that can stop them its Atletico. We are backing the draw. With Atletico’s recent defensive record we are also backing a bit of an outside bet under .5 goals scored.
