On Tuesday evening, Sheffield United will look for their first Premier League win of the season as the Blades welcome Newcastle to Bramall Lane.

Chris Wilder’s team have been absolutely woeful in the Premier League this season. The Blades have picked up just two points from their 17 league games so far, having failed to win any of their top-flight matches this season.

Bramall Lane has offered Wilder’s team very little home comforts, as the Blades have lost eight of their last nine league games on home soil. They have also failed to score in six of their previous nine home matches in the Premier League.
Newcastle
If ever there were an opponent that Sheffield United would Maybe like to face this week then it is Newcastle. The Magpies have failed to win in their last five league outings, which has seen them drop to 15th place in the Premier League table. Steve Bruce’s team also suffered a 2-0 extra-time defeat at Arsenal in the FA Cup third round last time out.
Like the home team, Newcastle have not exactly been prolific in the English top-flight of late, as only three teams in the Premier League have scored fewer goals than the visitors. However, they have still managed to score over twice as many league goals as the home team.
The team from the north east have not been great on their travels, winning just two of their last ten away games, while losing three of their last four top-flight matches. Newcastle have also conceded at least two goals in all those recent away defeats.
One positive for the visitors is that they have won five of the last six meetings with Sheffield United in all competitions.
Conclusion
Both of these teams are in poor form. However, our gut feeling suggests that the win over Bristol Rovers may lift the Blades the confidence they need to record their league win of the season. The other bet we recommend is under 2.5 goals scored, as these are two of the most goal-shy teams in the league.
