We have reached gameweek 26 in FPL, which offers double gameweeks for many teams and key FPL assets. We had a mixed week with our gameweek 25 picks, as two of our picks delivered, but unfortunately, two did. However, that does not phase us, as we expect a better result in gameweek 26. Here are our gameweek 26 picks for the week:
Emiliano Martinez (Aston Villa, £5.3m)
When it comes to goalkeeper’s in FPL this season, Martinez has been the standout figure in his position. No goalkeeper has picked up more points than the Spaniard, who started the season at a price tag of £4.5m. Unfortunately, due to his habit of picking up regular points his price tag is now £5.3m.
However, even at that price, Martinez is an outstanding pick. In fact, he could well now be a good set and forget goalkeeper for the remainder of the campaign. The mixed fixtures in the double gameweek of trips to Leeds and Sheffield United should not put you off selecting the most reliable goalkeeper in FPL for picking up points this season.
Heung Min-son (Tottenham, £9.5m)
The South Korean international is a gut instinct pick more than anything else for the current gameweek. Tottenham and Son’s form has not been great of late. However, a double of a home match against Burnley and a trip to capital rivals Fulham still make the midfielder a decent pick for the gameweek. Partner in-crime Harry Kane is back and the pair seem to have telepathic understanding. Form is temporary and class is permanent and Son may prove that old adage correct in gameweek 26.
Harvey Barnes (Leicester, £6.9m)
The young winger has improved massively this season. With that improvement has come goals and assists. Barnes has now scored nine top-flight goals, while also producing five assists. His recent form has been good, as he has picked up a goal and an assist in his last two top-flight outings.
The Foxes midfielder looks like a brilliant mid-range option with a double gameweek for Leicester of a home game against Arsenal before a trip to Burnley. Both games look winnable and Barnes heads into the games with great momentum.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin (Everton, £7.7m)
The England international missed the last double gameweek due to injury, which was a blow to many FPL bosses. However, the 23-year-old made his comeback from injury with an appearance from the bench last Saturday in a 2-0 derby victory over Liverpool. He of course won the penalty that saw Carlo Ancelotti’s men seal the game.
With 13 goals and six assists, his form this season certainly belies his value, especially now that Everton now seems to have a near fully fit squad. A double gameweek of a home game against out-of-form Southampton and a visit to struggling West Brom make DCL a no-brainer for gameweek 26. He is also a captaincy contender.
Do you fancy Dominic Calvert-Lewin to score in either of his games in the double gameweek and want to place a bet? Well, why don’t you visit our betting page to find the bookmakers we recommend for your bet.
