The Premier League rolls on this week for another selection of entertaining fixtures as the busy month of April begins. While we’re entering into the latter stages of the season, there are still so many huge fixtures left to be played at the top and bottom of the table.
Today, our aim is to pick out four clubs, in particular, who we believe have a huge opportunity ahead of them in the next few days. They aren’t nailed on to pick up all three points and they may not even be the favourites, but if they can find a way to win, it could be huge for their season.
If you feel like putting some money down on any of the games we’re about to discuss, head on over to the betting page.
Chelsea
Chelsea are sitting comfortably in the race to finish in the top four and when you consider everything else they’ve got going for them at this stage in the campaign, we’d argue it’s a pretty good time to be a Blues fan. Thomas Tuchel has whipped this team into shape in a big way and at this point in proceedings, Stamford Bridge is going to be a really hard place to go between now and the end of the season – regardless of which competition they’re playing in. In the early kick-off against West Brom, they’ll easily be the favourites.
Everton
Everton fans are slowly losing hope that they can finish in the top four but in our view, the top six is where they need to be aiming with seventh place potentially getting them back into Europe too. The Toffees have had an enjoyable campaign thus far but Carlo Ancelotti needs to try and get them to dig deep because they have a tendency to fall off the wagon when the going gets tough. They will be hosting Crystal Palace on Merseyside and given the Eagles’ recent form, this one shouldn’t be too hard to call.
Manchester United
Manchester United are really improving under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and even the club’s top haters need to admit to that fact. Sure, they may not be winning the title this season with City stretching their lead as of late, but they should really go after second place – as well as the Europa League crown. This weekend they’ll play Brighton at home which could’ve been a banana peel in the past, but we think they’ve got what it takes to lay down a real beating on the Seagulls.
Fulham
Fulham are only two points away from 17th place but every time they lose, survival feels like it’s slipping further and further away. Still, there could be a light at the end of the tunnel, with that light being a trip to Villa Park to play Aston Villa. Dean Smith’s side haven’t exactly looked like themselves recently with no Premier League wins in their last four games, whereas Fulham always seem to have a surprise or two result up their sleeve.
