Prediction and odds for the game: Leicester (4/1) vs Chelsea (8/11)
We are backing the away win at odds of 8/11
When: Saturday 20 November 2021, Kick-off 12:30
Where: The King Power Stadium
On Saturday afternoon, Leicester host Premier League leaders Chelsea at the King Power Stadium, as the visitors look to consolidate their position at the top of the table.
Leicester
The team from the Midlands have struggled for any sort of consistency of late. Brendan Rodgers team has now failed to win in three games in all competitions. The Foxes recent league form has been slightly concerning, as they have won just two of their previous eight outings in the English top-flight.
The relatively poor recent run of form in the English top-flight has seen the Foxes slump to 12th place in the table. A poor defensive record of late has been a big factor in Leicester’s less than impressive recent league results, as they have conceded at least two goals in five of their previous seven matches in the English top-flight.
In fact, the home team has kept just one clean sheet in the Premier League this season. The continued absence through injury of the likes of Wesley Fofana and James Justin seems to have been a factor in the poor defensive record. The pair are once again expected to miss out here.
Chelsea
Thomas Tuchel’s team are top of the pile in the Premier League, three points clear of Manchester City and West Ham in second and third place in the standings respectably. However, the Blues went into the international break on the back of a frustrating 1-1 draw with struggling Burnley. The draw ended a four-match run of victories for the Blues in the Premier League. The game also saw a run of three straight clean sheets in the English top-flight end.
The league leaders still have the best defensive record in the Premier League this season, having conceded just four goals in their 11 league outings. At the other end of the pitch, only Liverpool have scored more goals in the English top-flight.
The Blues are unbeaten in their away games in the Premier League this season, recording four wins and a draw. Tuchel’s team have also conceded just one goal in their five away games in the English top-flight, which was of course at free-scoring Liverpool.
Chelsea have doubts over the fitness of the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Mateo Kovacic and Timo Werner. However, the trio all have a chance of featuring.
Conclusion
Leicester have been underperforming this season, hence their relatively lowly position in the table. We are backing Chelsea to record a victory, as the Blues are just so well-drilled and Leicester are vulnerable in defence. We are also backing both teams to score, despite Chelsea’s stellar defensive record. The Foxes have been prolific on home soil of late at the King Power Stadium, scoring at least two goals in six of their previous nine home matches in the Premier League.
Our Tips: We are backing the Chelsea win at odds of 8/11 and/or both teams to score at odds of 11/12 (All odds are taken from Bet365).
