Prediction and odds for the game: Norwich (11/4) vs Everton (Evens)
We are backing the away win
When: Saturday 15 January 2022, Kick-off 15:00
Where: Carrow Road
On Saturday afternoon, struggling pair Norwich and Everton go head-to-head at Carrow Road, as both teams look to get back to winning ways.
Norwich
The Canaries have struggled for victories and wins this season since winning promotion back to the Premier League. However, despite their poor form this season in the English top-flight, the team from Norfolk are just three points from safety.
The chances of the Canaries escaping the drop zone will be hampered by the fact that all the teams above them have at least a game in hand on the Canaries. In fact, 18th place Burnley have three games in hand on Dean Smith’s team.
It will take a monumental effort from City to get out of danger, especially as they head into this game on the back of six straight league defeats. They have also failed to score in all six defeats while conceding at least two goals in five of the six losses.
The Canaries have also won just one of their last 15 home matches in the Premier League, dating back to their previous spell in the English top-flight.
Everton
The Toffees Premier League form continues to be a worry for everybody connected with the club. A record of one win in 12 top-flight games is certainly something to be concerned about.
Last time out Rafa Benitez’s team needed extra time to beat Championship Hull City 3-2 in the FA Cup third round. However, the men from Merseyside should have been awarded two penalty kicks that were missed by officials.
A 3-2 home defeat by Brighton in their last Premier League match was also a disappointing result. The game produced a positive in the display of young homegrown winger Anthony Gordon, who scored a brace, which were his first goals for his boyhood club. Despite the recent poor form, Everton are still eight points clear of the relegation zone.
There has been some positive news for Everton in the last few days, as the likes of Yerry Mina and Richarlison are back in full training, as is young centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite.
New signing Vitalii Mykolenko will make his Premier League debut. However, fellow January signings Nathan Patterson and Anwar El Ghazi may have to settle for places on the bench.
Conclusion
Norwich have been woeful at times this season. However, if ever there was a team to face when you are on a poor run that team is usually Everton. However, there is some slight optimism with the new signings and the return of key players to training. We are backing the visitors to record a narrow victory in a low-scoring encounter.
Our Tips: We are backing the away win at evens and/or under 2.5 goals scored at odds of 8/11. (All odds are taken from Bet365)
