The Citizens are now once again just three points clear of second-place Liverpool in the race for the Premier League title. Pep Guardiola’s team can ill-afford any slip-ups in this clash against a team that have caused them problems in the past.
The reigning English champions are unbeaten in four matches in all competitions since a surprise 3-2 home defeat by Tottenham. Last time out, Sporting Lisbon held the Citizens to a goalless draw at the Etihad Stadium in the Champions League.
However, the game meant very little, as City had won the reverse fixture 5-0 in the Portuguese capital. The draw ended a run of three straight competitive wins for City in all competitions.
Despite last month’s home defeat against Tottenham, City has still won four of their last five matches in the Premier League. Guardiola’s team has also scored at least two goals in four of those five games in the English top-flight.
Conclusion
Palace have been on a decent run of late and are unlikely to give the champions an easy game. However, the Citizens should have too much quality for the Eagles. We are not backing the away win at those odds, as you can’t win with odds like that.
