Prediction and odds for the game: Norwich (19/10) vs Burnley (6/4)
We are backing the away win
When: Sunday 10 April 2022, Kick-off 14:00
Where: Carrow Road
On Sunday afternoon, Norwich and Burnley face off in what could be the most important game of both teams’ Premier League campaigns.
Norwich
The Canaries are enduring another poor Premier League campaign after winning promotion last season from the Championship. Dean Smith’s team is rock bottom of the table and seven points adrift of safety in the fight for survival. The odds suggest that the team from Norfolk will suffer their second relegation from the Premier League in three years.
The Canaries’ recent form has been that of a team set to suffer relegation, as the home side heads into this clash on the back of an eight-game winless run in the Premier League. However, a 0-0 draw at Brighton in their last Premier League game at least stopped the rot of six straight league defeats. It also saw Norwich pick up a highly rare clean sheet, which is their first in their eight-match winless run in the English top-flight.
Norwich’s home form in the Premier League in recent seasons has been poor, as the Canaries have won just two of their last 20 league matches at Carrow Road dating back to their last stint in the English top-flight.
Burnley
In their last league outing, Burnley recorded what could be a hugely significant 3-2 home win over 17th place Everton. A late Maxwell Cornet goal was enough to move the Clarets within a point of their north west rivals in the fight for survival.
The victory was much-needed, as Sean Dyche’s team had lost their previous four matches in the Premier League, without scoring a goal. The win could be just what the Clarets needed to mount yet another survival bid.
Burnley have had real problems in front of goal this season in the Premier League, as only Sunday’s opponents have scored fewer goals than the Claret’s total of 25 this season in the English top-flight.
The visitors have also found away wins hard to come by in recent months, as they have won just once in 15 league matches on their travels in the Premier League. However, they have only lost once in their last four games in the English top-flight, so there are signs of an improvement in their form away from Norfolk.
Conclusion
Both teams picked up decent results in their last outings in the Premier League. However, Burnley’s win over Everton was not only massive for their position in the table but also for confidence. We can see Sean Dyche’s team picking up a narrow win in this clash, in what could be a tight game, with few goals.
Our Tips: We are backing the Burnley win at odds of 6/4 and/or under 2.5 goals scored at odds of 4/6. (All odds are from Bet365)
