The Brazilian forward, who joined from Valencia nearly three years ago, will be out of contract at Elland Road in just over a year’s time.

However, understandably keen to avoid losing the former La Liga striker for free at the end of next season, according to recent reports, the Premier League side are preparing to open talks with a view to extending his contract.

Since joining the Yorkshire-based club in 2020, Rodrigo has scored 26 goals and registered five assists in 86 matches. This season is the forward’s best in terms of numbers though – he has already netted 11 Premier League goals and is his the side’s top-scorer for the season.
