Inter Milan will not try to sign on-loan Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku at the end of the season.
Reports in Italy claim the Serie A giants will part ways with Belgium’s Lukaku once the current season comes to an end later this year.
Lukaku has spent three seasons with Inter Milan across two spells. Joining permanently from Manchester United in 2019 before departing in 2021 in favor of a move to Chelsea, the 29-year-old has experienced success in Italy’s top-flight, lifting the 2021-22 Italian league title.
However, finding himself sent back to Inter Milan at the start of this season following a falling out with Chelsea, this time on loan, Lukaku has once again proved a valuable member of the Nerazzurri’s squad.
Still with three years left on his contract with Chelsea, the Belgian, currently valued at around $50m, remains an expensive player, and according to these latest reports, Inter Milan are unlikely to be able to sign him permanently and will therefore opt against opening talks with Todd Boehly’s Blues.
