Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar is set to swap France for Italy this summer as he pursues European football.
The highly coveted midfielder, 24, has informed his boyhood club he will be leaving in the summer when his contract runs out, and according to Foot Mercato journalist Santi Auona, Aouar has already turned down potential suitors Eintracht Frankfurt with Sporting Director Markus Krosche confirming “this deal won’t happen” with the club currently seventh in the Bundesliga.
Aouar would prefer a move to Serie A and as reported by Auona, Napoli are set to make a concrete offer for the midfielder who has recently lost his place in the team within the next seven days with AC Milan also linked.
It has also been reported that AS Roma are pushing to sign Aouar and a five-year deal is set to be offered. La Liga outfit Real Betis have also approached the player whose current squad also includes Aouar’s former teammate and captain Nabil Fekir.
