It has been revealed that Joao Felix is set to leave Atletico Madrid on a permanent basis this summer.
Since arriving at Atletico in 2019, Joao Felix has failed to live up to the huge pricetag which was paid to bring the Portuguese star to the Civitas Metropolitano from Benfica.
And now according to PacojoSER, Felix is set to leave Madrid on a permanent basis after spending the second half of this season on loan at Chelsea, where he has only scored two goals in 15 appearances in all competitions. The Portuguese, still 23, is not believed to have yet convinced Todd Boehly to make his loan move permanent at the Blues as the Chelsea owner looks to trim his squad in the summer, with Conor Gallagher also linked with leaving Stamford Bridge.
Felix, who failed to be able to truly express himself in Diego Simeone’s combative and defensive style of football at Atletico, has now been linked with Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United by reports in Spain.
🚨 If Chelsea decide against signing João Félix, Newcastle might be his only option. They asked about the Portuguese star before his loan to Chelsea.
Atlético Madrid hope to offload the player on a permanent basis.
