Newcastle United are reportedly determined to sign Barcelona winger Raphinha.
That’s according to a report from Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, who are saying the Premier League club are seriously considering making a summer move for Barcelona’s exciting Brazilian attacker.
Despite only moving to the Nou Camp from Leeds United last summer, Raphinha, 26, is facing an uncertain future due to not being a regular starter with manager Xavi picking Ousmane Dembele as his first-choice right sided playmaker.
Consequently, after tracking Raphinha for at least 12 months, Newcastle are now becoming favorites to bring the South American back to England’s Premier League.
Priced at just over $60m, Raphinha won’t be an easy target to obtain, but Howe has been given a boost in his pursuit of the 26-year-old after these latest reports claim the Barcelona star ‘likes’ the prospect of playing at St James’ Park ‘a lot’.
