Newcastle United are reportedly ‘growing confident’ of reaching an agreement with Arsenal to sign defender Kieran Tierney.
That’s according to British newspaper The Sun, who claim the Gunners’ second-choice full-back could leave London and spend next season in England’s northeast.

Despite being one of the Premier League’s best left-backs, relentless bad luck with injuries has meant Tierney has lost his place to Oleskander Zinchenko, who joined from Manchester City last summer, and looking to become a side’s first-choice full-back again, the Scottish defender is set to move on in search of a new challenge.
Kieran Tierney to Newcastle United?
And when it comes to Newcastle United, with the left-back position arguably being their weakest, manager Eddie Howe is understandably keen to bring in a new name, and Tierney would definitely represent a significant upgrade on Dan Burn, who is actually a natural center-back but has been tasked with filling in at left-back.
Expected to complete a deal costing around $38m, Tierney’s proposed switch to St James’ Park would not only allow Newcastle to improve, but it would also offer the 25-year-old the chance to get his career back on track.
