Liverpool have reportedly cooled their interest in Croatian defender Josko Gvardiol as they believe the $100m is far too high.
The Red Bull Leipzig central defender, only 21, has impressed in his previous two campaigns with the Bundesliga outfit, who are now two points outside of the Champions League spots after losing 2-0 at Bayer Leverkusen at the weekend.
Gvardiol was reportedly part of a three-man shortlist Jurgen Klopp had comprised in order to strengthen his backline, but according to Football Insider, the Reds have now been priced out of a move as they are not willing to pay the $100m asking price for the Croatian, who starred for his country at the World Cup, helping guide them to a third-placed finish.

It is believed the Reds now favor a move for Eintracht Frankfurt defender Evan Ndicka, who will not be a problem financially, as he will be available on a free transfer for 1 July but Liverpool are expected to have to fight it out with fellow Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur for his services.
