Liverpool has identified Man City star Kalvin Phillips as a cheaper alternative to Jude Bellingham this summer, according to the Daily Star. Jurgen Klopp is keen on making a move for the England international after being priced out of a move for the Borussia Dortmund star.
Phillips open to transfer switch to Liverpool
Phillips is reportedly open to the switch to Anfield this summer, as he has found his game time limited since moving to the Etihad from Leeds United. A move to Liverpool will reportedly cost the Reds a fee of $40 million.
The England international has played a small role for City this term, having made just seven appearances in the Premier League and three in the Champions League. The 27-year-old has struggled with injuries since switching Elland Road for the Etihad.
However, a move to Anfield is likely to appeal, as it would give Phillips the game time required to enhance his chances of playing a key role for Gareth Southgate’s England at the EUROs next summer.
