It has been revealed by The Sun that Newcastle could have up to $190 million to spend this summer if they manage to qualify for the Champions League. The Magpies could be set to make a dent in that budget, as they are eyeing up a summer move for Arsenal star Kieran Tierney.
Newcastle set sights on two positions
Eddie Howe is happy with his current squad, but qualification to the Champions League would mean that they would need greater strength in depth. The Magpies have reportedly identified left-back and defensive midfield as two positions that they wish to strengthen this summer.
Newcastle has set their sights on Arsenal’s Kieran Tierney in the left-back position, with the Gunners ace falling down the pecking order following the arrival of Oleksandr Zinchenko.
Despite injury issues, the 25-year-old has still made 22 appearances in the Premier League this season, registering one assist. However, the Scottish international could be open to a move away for the Emirates in the search for regular playing time.
