Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal want to buy Ligue 1 breakout star Lois Openda after his superb season in France with Lens.

It was reported last week that Openda was attracting interest from Inter Milan and Leeds United, however, the Belgium frontman has today been linked with the Gunners by Daily Mail reporter Peter Young.

The 23-year-old scored two goals in his side’s 3-0 home win against fellow Champions League chasers Monaco, reportedly another suitor of Openda, taking his tally to an impressive 17 league goals this season.

After joining the club last July, the Belgium international still has four years on his current deal at Lens and is likely to attract much more interest in what could be one of the transfer sagas of the summer.
