Joao Felix could be on the hunt for a new club this summer, as he will reportedly not return to Atletico Madrid when his loan deal at Stamford Bridge expires at the end of the season, according to The Sun.
Chelsea would like to keep the talented Portuguese international, but they are unwilling to pay the transfer fee set by Atletico.
Chelsea keen on a permanent transfer for Joao Felix
The Blues have reportedly opened talks to extend Felix’s deal at Stamford Bridge, with Mauricio Pochettino plotting to unleash a strike force consisting of the Portuguese and the returning Romelu Lukaku next season.
However, reports have claimed that Felix will assess all possible options before making a final decision, as he would ideally like to join a club participating in the Champions League.
Atletico wish to offload the player this summer, but the Spanish giants will demand at least $90 million. The 23-year-old has struggled for game-time since Frank Lampard’s return, but he has still netted twice in 12 Premier League appearances since January.
