Brighton and Hove Albion want to sign Liverpool midfielder James Milner on a free transfer at the end of the season.
That’s according to The Athletic, who claim Milner, 37, has yet to be offered a new contract by the Reds – paving the way for a summer Anfield exit.
James Milner to leave Liverpool and join Brighton on free transfer?
Despite being one of the Premier League’s oldest players, with Brighton closing in on qualifying for European soccer next season, it is obvious that manager Roberto De Zerbi must add quality in depth to his squad.
Not only that but 37-year-old Milner also offers vast experience, as well as the leadership qualities required to drive a team forward when competing on multiple fronts.
Although Premier League clubs cannot offer another soon-to-be out-of-contract Premier League player a deal before their current one expires, the Seagulls must wait until the end of the season but these latest reports claim the south coast club have already ‘internally discussed’ making the Liverpool veteran an offer.
