Man United manager Erik Ten Hag is reported to be keen on teaming up with former Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana this summer as David De Gea’s poor season continues.
Onana, 27, only moved to Inter Milan from the Amsterdam-based outfit this summer but impressive performances in the Champions League this term have helped his side set up an all-Milan Champions League semi-final with rivals AC Milan tonight.
And with another embarrassing mistake from David De Gea costing his side dearly in their 1-0 defeat to West Ham United on Sunday, Ten Hag is believed to have seen enough from the 32-year-old longstanding Man United number one, who remains out of contract at the end of the season, with esteemed Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio linking Onana with a move to Old Trafford.
Andre Onana heavily-linked with Man United
The Red Devils boss has already worked with the Cameroonian number one during their five years together at the Johan Cruyff Arena, winning three Eredivisie titles and famously being only seconds away from making a Champions League final before a last-gasp winner by Tottenham’s Lucas Moura knocked Ajax out on away goals.
Onana is likely not to come cheap, however, with a fee of around $55m only likely to test Inter Milan’s resolve.
