Man United have identified Goncalo Ramos as their preferred option to solve their striker problems.
That’s according to a recent report from The Mirror, who claim the Red Devils have identified Portugal’s Ramos as their top attacking target ahead of this summer’s transfer window.
It’s been noted that Red Devils are considering offering Benfica $110m for the striker, with some stories also indicating that United could bring in the Portuguese forward to play alongside Harry Kane.
Man United set sights on record-breaking Ramos transfer
Ramos has been a forward United have monitored for a period of time, and the club was said to have been impressed by his displays at the 2022 World Cup after replacing Cristiano Ronaldo in the starting eleven.
The 21-year-old has impressed across all competitions for Benfica this season. He has scored 17 goals in 27 games in the Portuguese top flight, while he also showed his class in the Champions League with seven goals in 14 games.
The reports claim that United still see Harry Kane as their top transfer choice, but a move for Ramos could also be achievable should the ownership situation be clarified before the summer window opens.
