Newcastle have joined Juventus in the race to sign highly-talented Monza full-back Carlos Augusto, according to reports at Calciomercato.
It has been reported that the Serie A side could be persuaded to cash in on one of their brightest stars this summer, and a figure in the region of $30 million may be enough.
Newcastle in the hunt for Augusto transfer
Monza has been one of the stories of the season in Serie A, as they have safely secured their top-flight status. Augusto has played a key role in their success this term, scoring six goals and registering five assists in 31 matches.
The Brazilian is seen as the perfect modern day full-back, as he is as comfortable in the attacking areas as he is defensively. As well as being able to play at left-back, the 24-year-old has also played in central defense throughout the 2022-23 season.
However, Newcastle face a fight to sign the defender, as Juventus are also among the European clubs interested in making a summer move.
