Liverpool have made a move for Hannover goalkeeper Ron-Robert Zieler, according to Bild.
The Reds will be in the market for a new understudy to Alisson this summer, as they are reportedly willing to allow Caoimhin Kelleher his departure in the 20-year-old’s hunt for regular playing time.
Liverpool set sights on summer transfer for Zieler
Zieler is a goalkeeper that Jurgen Klopp has watched up-close, having came up against the shot-stopper during his time in the Bundesliga with Borussia Dortmund. The 34-year-old is reportedly weighing up his options ahead of the summer transfer window.
Zieler was part of the German side that reached the semi-finals at EURO 2012, and the team that won the World Cup in 2014. The German is also no stranger to English soccer, as he came through the youth ranks at Man United.
However, his Premier League debut didn’t come until the 2016-17 season, as he played eleven times across all competitions during a stint with Leicester City. But, he is regarded as one of the most solid goalkeepers in Germany, having played 30 times in the second tier for Hannover this term.
