Paris Saint-Germain are set to make their loan deal for French striker Hugo Ekitike permanent in the summer.
Ekitike started and provided an assist for Kylian Mbappe for the Parisians in their 5-o win against Ajaccio on Saturday, taking the team one step closer to the Ligue 1 title. The 20-year-old arrived at the Parc des Princes at the beginning of the season on loan from hometown club Reims and has been mainly used as a squad player behind the superstar frontline of Neymar, Lionel Messi, and Mbappe.
Hugo Ekitike close to extending PSG loan spell
Ekitike has started PSG’s last two games which have coincided with an upturn in the Parisian’s form, with only four points now needed from their final three matches to seal their ninth Ligue 1 title in 11 seasons.
And according to the French newspaper L’Equipe, Ekitike is close to making his loan deal from Reims permanent at the end of the season with Eintracht Frankfurt also interested in the Frenchman after making a $21.5m for PSG center back El Chadaille Bitshiabu.
