Arsenal are targeting Brighton and Hove Albion’s Moises Caicedo as they plan to move early in the summer transfer window.
The 21-year-old Ecuadorean midfielder has made a fantastic impression in the Premier League since joining from Independiente del Valle in 2021 and his star will have risen even higher at the weekend after his man-of-the-match performance for the Seagulls against Arsenal in a 3-0 win at the Emirates Stadium, which effectively ended the Gunners’ title hopes.
Premier League star Moises Caicedo wanted by Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta
According to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta will be given a $250m warchest this summer to build a new midfield with Caicedo and West Ham skipper Declan Rice at the top of his wishlist. And with midfielder Granit Xhaka reportedly on his way out of the club in the summer, Caicedo’s energy, creativity, and calmness in and out of possession will be seen as a notable upgrade on the Swiss international, who only has one year left on his current deal.
