Chelsea want Napoli striker Victor Osimhen to be part of their summer rebuild under incoming manager Mauricio Pochettino.
The 24-year-old Nigerian hitman will cost a fee of around $165m as Chelsea look to make a drastic improvement on this season’s efforts, with the Blues almost guaranteed now to finish in the bottom half of the Premier League table.
Chelsea will need to strongly sell themselves as potential targets to Osimhen given that they will not be playing in Europe at all next season but according to the Guardian’s Jacob Steinberg, the Blues remain quietly confident that the glean and money of the Premier League could attract Serie A’s top goalscorer to moving to Stamford Bridge this summer.
Victor Osimhen rumored with Chelsea move this summer
The Blues have not had a consistent goalscorer since the departure of Diego Costa to Atletico Madrid in 2017 with forwards Alvaro Morata, Gonzalo Higuain, Romelu Lukaku, Kai Havertz, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang all failing to make the grade at Stamford Bridge.
And incoming manager Mauricio Pochettino, who is expected to sign a three-year deal with Chelsea this week, is reportedly a big fan of the Nigerian center forward as he plans to make an early start in the summer transfer window.
