Man United have identified Borussia Monchengladbach’s Manu Kone as an alternative target if they fall short in their pursuit of Adrien Rabiot, according to Metro.
Rabiot remains among United’s top transfer targets this summer after falling short on reaching an agreement with the Juventus star last summer.
Man United eye Kone transfer move
United came up short in their pursuit of Rabiot last summer after the Red Devils pulled the plug after deeming Rabiot’s wage demands too high. Due to that, United have a shortlist of potential targets this summer if their number one midfield option doesn’t work out.
Kone has been a standout star in the Bundesliga this term, after scoring once and registering a further assist in 29 league matches. The 22-year-old has also been attracting interest from PSG, with Gladbach resigned to losing the central midfielder this summer.
The midfielder has been a bright prospect since moving to Germany in 2021 on a five-year deal from Toulouse. But, Gladbach does stand to make a huge profit on the young star.
