Crystal Palace could be set to renew the contract of Wilfried Zaha, according to TalkSport. The Eagles had been preparing for life without the talented Ivorian.
It was believed that Zaha was set to end his association with Palace this summer at the end of his current deal, but he could be set to turn for approaches from Arsenal, Chelsea, and Saudi Arabia to remain at Selhurst Park.
Crystal Palace close to Zaha agreement
It would present a dramatic U-turn in the Zaha saga, as it was widely believed that Palace’s home match against Nottingham Forest would be the fans’ last chance to see the Ivorian in a Palace shirt.
However, latest reports have now claimed that the parties are close to agreeing a new deal in the region of $240,000-per-week. The deal would see Zaha become the highest-paid player in the history of the club, while it would also tie him down to another four years at Selhurst Park.
Zaha began his career at Palace, before joining Man United in 2013. However, after a failed stint at Old Trafford, he returned to Selhurst Park on a permanent deal in 2015. Since then, he has scored 72 goals across 315 appearances in all competitions.
