Manchester United central defender Lisandro Martinez is likely to be offered a new contract this summer after a successful debut season.
The Argentinian World Cup winner has proven to be worth the $60m that was forked out by the Red Devils last summer for his services after a successful spell under manager Erik Ten Hag at Ajax.
Lisandro Martinez to be rewarded with new deal
Nicknamed The Butcher of Amsterdam, Martinez’ aggressive defending has suited the style of Premier League football after a slow start and has displaced club captain Harry Maguire, who has been rumored with the Old Trafford exit door this summer.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Martinez has impressed Old Trafford bosses enough to consider a new improved deal after less than 12 months at the club after playing 45 matches this season so far for the Red Devils.
