Manchester United and Tottenham are plotting to make a move for Brighton and Hove Albion’s young breakthrough star Evan Ferguson.
Ferguson, 18, committed his long-term future to the Seagulls last summer, putting pen to paper with a deal until 2028.
However, according to Sky Sports, the Irish international will still be the subject of bids from the two Premier League giants, who are prepared to be patient and wait until the summer of 2024 to make their move.
Evan Ferguson attracted the interest of Man United and Spurs
Ferguson’s brace against already relegated Southampton on Sunday meant the Irishman has now reached double figures for goals in his first full season with the Seagulls’ first-team.
And speaking ahead of Brighton’s clash with Premier League champions Manchester City tomorrow, manager Roberto De Zerbi said his young striker, “will become one of the best players and strikers in the Premier League”.
Sky Sports have also reported that Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola and Roma’s Jose Mourinho are huge admirers of Ferguson, with Manchester United academy director Nick Cox labeling the Irishman as a “$62m-plus mistake” after the club failed to secure him following a trail with the youth team.
