Manchester City will have to fork out $100m if they are able to prize central defender Josko Gvardiol away from Red Bull Leipzig this summer.
The 21-year-old was in imperious form as he helped lead his side to a 3-1 win at Bayern Munich on Saturday, significantly denting the Bavarian’s chances of an eleventh Bundesliga title in a row.
And according to the global transfer website Sport Witness, Leipzig will only entertain offers in excess of $100m for their most valuable asset.
World Cup star Josko Gvardiol continues to interest Man City
Croatian Gvardiol was one of the stars of last year’s World Cup, as his nation finished third in the tournament overall. And his star has continued to shine after the tournament, with Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola heavily linked with a summer move for the center-back, who can also play at left-back.
Gvardiol became the youngest Croat to score in the Champions League knockout phase after he headed home the equalizer in Leipzig’s 1-1 draw against City earlier this season.
