Man United could be set to rival Newcastle this summer in the race to sign highly-rated Bayer Leverkusen winger Moussa Diaby, according to Florian Plettenberg.
Newcastle have been the long-time leaders in the race to sign the Bundesliga ace, with Leverkusen holding out for at least $70 million.
Man United monitoring Diaby transfer situation
United remain in the market for forward players this summer, and they have been monitoring Diaby’s situation throughout the season. However, any move for the winger will likely depend on the club’s ownership situation.
The fee could also be a stumbling block for the Red Devils, as it is believed that a winger doesn’t rank high on their list of summer targets this year. But, United will be keeping a close eye on developments concerning his future.
The 23-year-old has enjoyed another excellent season for Leverkusen this term, as he has netted 12 goals and registered nine assists across 40 matches in all competitions this term.
