Spanish giants Real Madrid are plotting a surprise move for Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson at the end of the season.
Los Blancos are looking for a replacement this summer for out-of-form defender Ferland Mendy, who was at fault for Valencia’s winning goal against Real at the Mestalla on Sunday.
Real Madrid registers interest in Liverpool defender
The 29-year-old will likely only be offered one further long-term contract in his playing career and with his contract running at Anfield until 2026, the Scotland captain is not likely to come cheap with the Reds not willing to listen to offers worth less than $50m.
According to The Daily Mail’s Stephen McGowan, Los Blancos have shown an interest in Robertson, although the full-back has shown no sign that he wants to leave Jurgen Klopp’s side.
Robertson joined from Hull City in 2017 and has since become a mainstay in the team, making almost 200 Premier League appearances in six years at the club.
