Paris Saint Germain want to bolster their midfield with the signing of Sporting Lisbon’s Manuel Ugarte.
Ugarte has shone in his time at Sporting Lisbon since joining from Famalicao in 2021 and has also been linked with Premier League giants Liverpool this summer.
The 22-year-old has been an ever-present in the Sporting midfield alongside Pedro Goncalves as the Lions reached the quarter-final stages of the Europa League, knocking out Arsenal on the way to an eventual 2-1 aggregate defeat to Italian giants Juventus.
Manuel Ugarte linked with Ligue 1 leaders PSG
Ugarte would undoubtedly strengthen a flimsy Paris Saint-Germain midfield, which is reportedly set to lose Italian Marco Verratti this summer.
According to the Portuguese sports paper Record, Ugarte is a concrete target for the Parisians with terms of the deal already being discussed. Premier League clubs remain interested in the Uruguayan’s signature but the Ligue 1 leaders are currently in pole position having already spoken to the player’s representatives.
