Newcastle United’s transfer plans will reportedly be finalized following a meeting involving the hierarchy this week.
However, their plans could have suffered a minor setback this weekend, as Eberechi Eze has insisted that he is ‘focused’ on his game at Crystal Palace.
Setback unlikely to impact Newcastle transfer plans
As quoted by Chronicle Live, Eze knocked back any suggestion that he will be on the move this summer during a pre-match press conference. However, the comments are unlikely to impact Newcastle’s transfer approach.
Eddie Howe’s side have been tracking the winger throughout the season, but he is one of a number of potential targets. The Toon have also been keeping a close eye on Mohammed Kudus at Ajax.
However, Eze certainly fits the profile of player that Newcastle will be looking to bring in. The Palace ace has been in excellent form throughout the season, scoring six goals and registering four assists.
His performances have also been rewarded recently with a first call-up to the England senior side by Gareth Southgate.
