Liverpool remain in the market for a new midfielder this summer, and they could be set to step up their interest in Southampton teenager Romeo Lavia.

The 19-year-old has been one of the few bright sparks for the Saints this term, and he almost certainly looks set to leave the club this summer ahead of Southampton’s return to the Championship.

Jurgen Klopp is keen to add to his quality in the midfield position this summer, but the Reds look set to miss out on long-term target Mason Mount. However, Liverpool are reportedly closing in on Brighton World Cup winner Alexis Mac Allister.

The Reds could also be set to add more youth to their midfield, as a move for Southampton Romeo Lavia has been teased by FootballTransfers.

Klopp’s side could offer teenager Tyler Morton in any potential deal after the midfielder has impressed in the second-tier with Blackburn Rovers this term.
