Real Madrid reject Mariano Diaz will leave the club on a free transfer at the end of the season.
The 29-year-old rejoined the club from French club Lyon in 2018 for $24.5m but has only made 60 La Liga appearances over five seasons for Los Blancos.
Dominican Republic international leaves the Bernabeu as free agent
Diaz made a name for himself at Lyon, which came between two separate spells with the Merengues, forming a deadly partnership with former Manchester United striker Memphis Depay and club captain Nabil Fekir in the 2017-2018 campaign.
After 21 goals in all competitions that season, Diaz returned to the Bernabeu but has since failed to make the same impact, and in order to make room for new signings such as Jude Bellingham, Real have decided against offering the Dominican Republic international another contract, as confirmed by Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.
