The former Newcastle United and Stoke City striker failed to make the grade in the Premier League but since returning to La Liga has netted a very impressive 16 goals in 32 appearances this term for an Espanyol side that has been threatened with relegation all season.

And averaging a goal every other game has convinced the Spanish giants to re-sign the Spanish international, who only made one league appearance in three years at the Bernabeu between 2009 and 2012, according to Spanish newspaper AS.
Late bloomer Joselu only made his debut for the Spanish national side against Norway in March of this year, becoming the oldest Spaniard to make his debut since 2006 and scored twice in two minutes coming on as a substitute in a 3-0 win.
