Paris Saint-Germain have stepped up their pursuit of signing out-of-contract Real Madrid star Marco Asensio.
As reported earlier this week, Asensio is equally admired by bosses at Aston Villa who have submitted a bid to sign the 27-year-old winger who will be leaving Los Blancos after eight years at the Bernabeu.

And according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, PSG are discussing a long-term deal with Asensio’s agent Jorge Mendes. The allure of living in Paris and the opportunity of being able to continue playing in the Champions League may prove to be enough for Asensio if he wants to keep his place in a competitive Spain team ahead of next summer’s European Championship next summer.
