Former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is keen to bring Kovacic to Bayern Munich this summer. Still, it is believed it is the midfielder’s preference to move to the Etihad Stadium this summer.
City’s move for Kovacic will undoubtedly add to speculation that fellow midfielder Ilkay Gundogan will soon leave the club, with the German out of contract at the end of the month as Barcelona and Premier League rivals Arsenal hover over the situation.
