Newcastle United have been offered the chance to sign former Chelsea loan star Joao Felix this summer. However, Eddie Howe remains cautious ahead of this summer transfer window, as the club doesn’t wish to overpay for players.
Atletico Madrid will reportedly look to offload the Portuguese star once again this summer, but Mauricio Pochettino has knocked back plans for Chelsea to re-sign Felix.
Newcastle United offered Joao Felix
Latest reports in the Daily Mail have claimed that Felix is being proposed to a number of esteemed clubs from around Europe, including Newcastle. However, the Magpies may see the wage demands and huge loan fee as a major put-off when it comes to approaching the deal.
Felix spent the second half of the 2022-23 season on loan at Chelsea, but he managed just four goals in 20 matches across all competitions. Pochettino expressed his desire to avoid making the transfer a permanent move after signing his deal earlier this week.
As well as Newcastle, PSG have also been approached regarded a deal for Felix, as Diego Simeone has no plans to reintegrate the Portuguese star back into the fold at Atletico Madrid.
